Quilt Paintings

Quilt Paintings are entirely upcycled paintings, prints, and personal collections that were submerged in a house flood in 2020. This also happened to coincide with the daily hum of quarantining at home for the entire year. My process involves the cutting, reforming, collaging, shaping, and rebuilding of the work that was able to be dried out, with unfinished brainstorms, birthday cards, library cards, receipts, stickers, shopping lists, and craft supplies. After the drying process, they are adhered to MDF and dipped in resin. These new compositions speak to a history of patterns, particularly through the lens of femininity, domesticity, and preservation.
